A GOOD NIGHT OUT: NYC - bambi

Had fruit and coffee on the terrace at my place before it rained, which was around 11 AM. Received a phone call from Miss S. informing us of the cancellation of her Birthday Party Picnic in Central Park because, "I don't want to go out and buy a bunch of cheese, go to the park, set up, and then watch it rain on my cheese." Miss S. really likes cheese. About ten minutes after I hung up the phone, it started raining hard, and did so off and on for most of the day. We decided not to go to Coney Island either. Ran a few errands, the final of which landed us in Midtown, outside the Spectra on Park. We decided to eat at a nearby Indian restaurant. We ordered a chicken dish and a lamb dish, two orders of nan and rice. Also we split a Taj Mahal, and then another. We didn't finish our meals because, I think, of all the beer we drank. At some point it was noted that I was swerving a bit when I walked back to the table from one of my frequent trips in the bathroom. Our waiter would not let us leave unless we took our leftovers with us. When we left, it had stopped raining. Took the train to Williamsburg and got the little energetic dog with the big belly and the tall elegant older dog. The dogs are cute, and loving. We took them to a gallery space on Metropolitan and Roebling, and then to visit Cinde and Kathleen. Cinde informed us that the barbecue we had originally intended on attending was cancelled because of the rain. Went to Iona and had two beers. The drunk guys at the bar sang along to every song playing on the radio. We had to leave so I could eat otherwise I was going to be really drunk really fast. It was no longer raining. Went to Bean and had dinner. I ate a Bob's Burrito, which is made of spinach and shitake. Not bad. Not great but not bad. Drank more beer that we brought in from the deli around the corner because Bean doesn't have a liquor license. The waitress was nice to us. Went to Mugs. Left because some girl was being a total bitch. Went to a skate store party/opening on 10th Street. There were mainly boys there and a few hot women who looked like they could be on the Do Pages of Vice Magazine. I couldn't tell if everyone there was 18 or 30. I mean, everyone was dressed like they were 16, so that just messes everything up. It was a fucking scene and a half and I really liked it even though I felt old and slightly out of place. Drank more beer. Went to a party at the corner of Metropolitan and Driggs. It was someone's birthday. Everyone was raving about the cake. Drank sangria. In a side room there was an old skateboard video playing on the television. A skanky 80s wasteland trio showed up and I could not take my eyes off of them. The girls were dressed like burnout girls from when I went to high school, in black dirty jeans, hoodies, dark denim jackets, feathered hair, streamy makeup. The boy was dressed like a little boy whore, with tight black stretchy pants pulled down over his hips to reveal black t-back panties. Whenever his pants would ride up, he would pull them down to make sure his t-back showed. He was wearing makeup that can best be described as having a gay pirate motif. They had obviously consumed a variety of drugs. My guess was coke and e. Went back to Iona. Drank more beer. Hit my limit with the secondhand cigarette smoke in that bar, any bar, every bar I'd been in that night, last week, in the last four months. Enough already. Hello? Can't you people see I'm working on something over here? I'm trying not to smoke. Watched part of the Repo-Man DVD. Went to sleep. Was blissed out. It was past 1 AM. I think.
